It is our sincere belief that this type of program helps bridge cultural gaps of misunderstanding and helps bring the world close together.
Each participant has an opportunity for close and keen insights into the American way of life. We believe that constant close contact is the best means for a true exchange of cultures, cementing a lasting relationship. Letters and photos exchanged between previous hosts and visitors portray warm and happy mutual experiences. We match host and visitor very carefully. Local host orientation meetings are held prior to visitor's arrival dates to help ease your transition into American life.

What Previous Students Say

Hello! My name is Maki Nakahara. Today, I will tell you about my experiences. I learned very many American English words, customs, and things about the American character. I spent a good time in California.

First, we went to Yosemite. It had natural beauty. I could see many beautiful stars. I was impressed with nature. After Yosemite, we have been staying with our home-stay family And we attended De Anza College.

The college is much bigger than my college in Japan and more beautiful. I learned speaking and reading English in the college. I think that I advanced in English.

My host family is 7 members. Everyone is good-natured. We often went many places. For example, we went to play mini-golf in Sunnyvale. My score was not good but I enjoyed it. And my host mother and I went to garage sales. I bought about 10 jackets and shirts, but I spent only $20.00! It made me happy. And people were very friendly.

I spent a good time in California. I want to say to my family and my teachers. "Thank you." I want to come back again someday in beautiful summertime!
